Chinese New Year 2019, The Year Of The Pig

Chinese New Year holiday

The public Chinese New Year holidays 2019 are February 4th through to February 10th.  The Chinese New Year is the most important traditional holiday in China. It is also known as the Spring Festival. Chinese New Year celebrations traditionally ran from Chinese New Year’s Eve, the last day of the last month of the Chinese calendar, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month, making the festival the longest in the Chinese calendar. It is also the occasion when many Chinese travel across the country to spend the holiday with their families.

According to the Chinese zodiac 2019 is the year of the pig.  The pig has the last position among the 12 Chinese zodiac animals. People born in a year of the pig are said to be happy, honest and brave. They set a high value on friendship and usually get along very well with others.
